Description
About The Product
- A deep moisturising balm for very dry skin
- Made with natural oils like Shea Butter & Coconut Oil
- Full of healing ingredients such as Allantoin & Natural Vitamin E
- Hemp Seed Oil is very moisturising and helps soothe the skin
- Perfect for those extra dry spots like elbows, heels and hands
As stated by MooGoo:
Got hands or hooves so dry that they crack? We made this delicious butter balm for a few close friends who had skin in need of some extra attention and serious thirst-quenching. For times like these, a normal moisturiser just won’t cut it. Learn to love those extra dry areas such as hands, knees, heels and elbows that always seem to be a little rougher than the rest.
Shea Butter is one of the most intense moisturising ingredients around, however, on its own, it’s too hard to apply to the skin. We mixed in some other hydrating and healing ingredients to help make it easier to rub in to deliver the moisture to where it’s needed most. After getting feedback from our customers, we gave it a delicious scent that smells like Vanilla cookies. Now all you have to do is try not to eat it. Also doubles as a yummy lip balm.
Ingredients
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Cannibis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt), Allantoin (Comfrey Root Extract), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Natural Vanilla Fragrance.
Because we make our products for our families, we have a strict ingredient philosophy that excludes ingredients like Parabens, Phenoxyethanol and penetration enhancers.
We show all of the ingredients we use in our products on our website, not just the pretty ones. That way you know exactly what’s in each one, and can get in touch if you have any more questions.
Please be aware that the ingredients we use in our formulas may be updated occasionally and therefore vary from time to time. Please refer to the ingredient list on the product packaging for the most up-to-date and relevant list of ingredients.
FAQs
My Shea Sorbet is hard. What’s the best way to apply it?
At room temperature Shea Sorbet is solid, and can be a bit harder in the winter. The best way to apply it is to rub a small chunk of the balm in between hands to warm it up to body temperature and then generously apply to your rough spots and allow to soak in overnight. If treating really crusty hooves, apply and cover with socks to help lock in that extra moisture.
What ingredients do you avoid when making a butter balm?
There’s lots of things you won’t find in this cream (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Paraffin and Mineral Oil which derive from petroleum, but are commonly found in commercial moisturisers like Sorbolene. We don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing we can do.
We also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they’re pretty commonly found, including with a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). We avoid a lot of other things too, way too many to list here. We also don’t use any useless, trendy ingredients like stem cells from Swiss apples or super power jellyfish DNA, just natural, effective ingredients for healthy skin.
What does “Dermatologically Tested” mean?
You may have seen the term “Dermatologically Tested” on lots of products before, but did you know there’s not an actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didn’t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction. We’re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing.
‘Fragrance’ is listed as one of the ingredients in this product. What does this mean?
When we first started making products, we used a blend of essentials oils to give them a lovely fragrance. But many people have severe reactions and allergies to them, even in small amounts. As a result, and because we make products for people with sensitive skin, we took them out of most products. Instead, we helped to develop a special kind of fragrant oil, whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. This is how we can have a pleasant-smelling product without the reactions. The scents we use are proprietary blends from the company we get them from, and we’ve had no reactions since we made the switch. Also, of course, it is free from phthalates, which is the main concern in fragrances.
